Hobbit Newsletter 2-2018 – Here’s what we’ve been up to.
Happy New Year and welcome back! Here’s our first newsletter for 2018.
Here’s our Christmas Newsletter. We would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy and Safe New Year.
Our major fundraising event for the year will be a Trivia / Games night.
This will be held at the Armidale Ex-Services Memorial Club on Friday 3rd November. Starting at 6:30 for 7pm, this will be a fun night with trivia, rounds of Pictionary, a dance off and bingo all planned. Tickets will be able to be purchased from the Club at a price of $20 per ticket.
This includes nibbles and hot food platters. Your support to our major fundraising event would be gratefully appreciated.
When tickets are available to purchase at the club, we will let you know through the parent pockets and our app.
School photos will be completed by Montage Photos and will be completed over 2 days– Monday 23rd and Tuesday 24th October.
Further details including order forms will be provided later through your parent pockets as the event gets closer, including on which day the Group photo will be taken.
It is hard to believe, but Christmas will be here before we know it, so we are already beginning to organise the end of year concert and other events that will occur before the end of the year.
More information will be provided through email, parent pockets or at the Parent Information Noticeboard (above where you currently sign in) as to the events occurring.
Information will also be provided on the App (details on how to access the App provided on the last page of the newsletter).
It will be a busy couple of months leading up to the end of the year, with school photos, incursions and fundraisers booked in to occur.
Hobbit is once again participating in the Earn and Learn program from Woolworths.
Until the 19th September, for every $10 you spend at Woolworths, you will receive a sticker.
We collect the stickers and then we can redeem these for equipment for the Centre.
We have a box located in the office for your stickers, and any stickers you can collect all go towards providing resources for your children. Your support and stickers are greatly appreciated!
A massive ‘THANK YOU’ must go to the wonderful Parents who supported us by travelling with us on our recent train and bus excursion to Uralla. Your extra sets of hands and eyes were a very welcome addition to our trip. The children had a wonderful time on the train and then walking to the Uralla Library, and for many of them, this was a first time that they had been on a train. While it is very important that the children engage with the community around them, it is an extraordinary effort to organise such a big excursion, so a huge ‘THANK YOU’ must also go to the Teachers and Educators who made the trip so worthwhile.
